Futura FS 503 Undermount Series Kitchen Sink is a single-bowl SS 304 sink made to sit below granite, quartz, marble or solid-surface countertops. With no steel rim on top of the counter, you can wipe water and food scraps straight from the counter into the sink, and there is no rim-to-counter gap where grime and mould can build up. The result is a clean, seamless look that lets your stone countertop stand out.

The large 29" x 16" bowl is 9" deep, roomy enough for pressure cookers, kadhais and stacked dishes, and it keeps splashing down even with a strong tap flow. The brushed satin finish hides fine scratches and water marks better than a mirror finish, and sound-deadening pads underneath reduce the noise of running water and clattering dishes. A drainer waste coupling is included.

1) What is the advantage of an under-mount sink?

There is no rim on top of the counter, so you can wipe water and scraps straight into the bowl, and there is no rim-to-counter gap where grime and mould collect. It also gives a clean, seamless look that suits stone and quartz countertops.

2) Can it be fitted on a laminate or wooden countertop?

No. Under-mount sinks leave the cut edge of the countertop exposed to water. Stone and quartz handle this well, but laminate and wood absorb moisture, swell and eventually fail around the sink. For these countertops, choose a top-mount Futura sink instead.

3) Can I install it myself?

Professional installation is strongly recommended. The stone cutout needs precise cutting equipment, and the silicone and brackets must be fitted and fully cured before use – a poorly installed under-mount sink can come loose under load. Use an experienced kitchen installer or stone fabricator.

4) What comes in the box, and what else do I need?

The box includes the sink and a drainer waste coupling. You will also need under-mount brackets to support the sink, kitchen-grade silicone sealant, a drain pipe from the waste coupling to the P-trap, and a P-trap if one isn't already fitted. Your plumber will advise on the right drain fittings.

5) How do I look after the silicone joint?

Wipe the joint weekly with mild detergent and a soft brush, and avoid abrasive cleaners or steel wool. If the silicone cracks, darkens or lifts over time, have it re-sealed promptly so water doesn't seep under the counter into the cabinet.
