Anchor Roma 3 Pin Socket, 2 Module, White is from Anchor's classic Roma modular range and comes in two ratings: a 6A version for low-power electronics and a dual-rated 6/16A version that accepts both 6A and 16A plugs for heavier appliances. The 2-module design fits the Roma modular system.

Built-in shutters keep the socket holes closed until a proper 3-pin plug is inserted, helping prevent accidental contact with live parts – useful in homes with children. Its sturdy, proven design gives reliable connections at an economical price. Pick the rating carefully: use 6A for chargers, TVs and lamps, and 6/16A wherever a heating or motor appliance such as a geyser, microwave or refrigerator might be plugged in.

Before You Buy

  • Check Your Load – 6A: Choose 6A for chargers, TVs, computers and lamps
  • Check Your Load – 6/16A: Choose 6/16A if a heating or motor appliance might be plugged in, such as a microwave, geyser, refrigerator, washing machine or iron
  • Match the Wire: Use 1.5 sq mm copper wire for 6A and 2.5 sq mm for 6/16A to prevent overheating

Installation Guidelines

  1. Power Off: Switch off the main supply and confirm with a tester before starting
  2. Connect the Wires: Connect Live (Red/Brown), Neutral (Black/Blue) and Earth (Green/Yellow) securely to the correct terminals
  3. Mount the Module: Fit the socket into the Anchor Roma plate and frame, making sure it is aligned and secure
  4. Test: Restore power and check the socket with a plug tester or low-power device before regular use

Electrical work should be done by a qualified electrician.

1) What is the difference between 6A and 6/16A?

The 6A socket is for lighter loads such as chargers, TVs, computers and lamps. The dual-rated 6/16A socket accepts both 6A and 16A plugs and handles appliances up to 16A (about 3,800W at 240V), such as geysers, microwaves, refrigerators and irons. If a heavy appliance might ever be plugged in, choose 6/16A.

2) Does it have child safety features?

Yes. Built-in shutters keep the socket holes closed until a proper 3-pin plug is pushed in, which helps stop children inserting objects into the socket.

3) Can I use the 6/16A socket for an air conditioner?

It is rated up to 16A, but ACs are best run on a dedicated circuit with the right MCB and wiring, as recommended by the AC manufacturer. Ask your electrician to confirm before connecting an AC.

4) What wire size should I use?

Use 1.5 sq mm copper wire for the 6A socket and 2.5 sq mm for the 6/16A socket. Thinner wire on a 16A point can overheat. Always follow local electrical codes and use a licensed electrician.

5) What is the difference between Roma and Tresa?

Roma is Anchor's classic, economical range with reliable performance at a budget-friendly price. Tresa is Anchor's premium range with more design-focused styling.

6) Will international plugs fit?

It is designed for Indian standard 3-pin plugs (Type D). For international plugs, use a suitable adapter.
