Makita HG5030K Heat Gun is a 1,600 W hot air gun supplied in a carry case. A slide switch gives two stages: 350 °C at 300 L/min for gentler, controlled work, and 500 °C at 500 L/min for fast, high-heat jobs.

Use stage 1 for heat-shrink sleeving over cable joints, where a strong blast could push the sleeve out of place. Use stage 2 for stripping paint and varnish, softening adhesives or thawing pipes across a wider area. The flat rear end lets the gun stand upright on the bench, so both your hands stay free to hold the workpiece. Overheat protection guards the element if airflow is restricted, and the tool is double insulated. Nozzles for specific jobs are available separately.

1) What comes in the box?

The HG5030K heat gun and a carry case. Nozzles are not included and can be purchased separately if you need them for specific jobs.

2) Which nozzles can I add, and what are they for?

Optional nozzles help direct the heat: a glass protection nozzle shields glass when stripping window frames, a reflector nozzle wraps heat around pipes, a reduction nozzle concentrates heat on a small spot, and a wide slot nozzle spreads heat for paint stripping and drying. They are sold separately.

3) Can I set temperature and airflow separately?

No, they change together with the slide switch. Stage 1 gives 350 °C at 300 L/min for delicate work where a strong blast would move the workpiece. Stage 2 gives 500 °C at 500 L/min for paint stripping and covering larger areas.

4) Is it safe to strip paint in an older building?

Take care. Paint in older buildings may contain lead, and heating it releases toxic fumes. Test the paint first, ventilate well and wear proper respiratory protection, or have it removed professionally.

5) Can it replace a blowtorch for soldering copper pipes?

No. It is not designed to replace a blowtorch for soldering copper pipe joints. It is best suited to heat-shrink sleeving, plastic forming, pipe thawing, adhesive removal and paint stripping.
